Bani Cheema
Executive Director

Bani Cheema is the Executive Director at DASCFT. After having lived in the United States for six years where she received her degree in International Organization and Law, she returned to India to work at DASCFT. While in the USA she worked with various non-profit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, such as Gateway High School, Creating Economic Opportunities for Women, Socially Responsible Network. Her experience at these organizations has exposed her to social and economic issues faced by communities around the globe.

At DASCFT, Bani has developed a new initiative under which the foundation helps the visually impaired with their educational requirements and hopes to in the future expand to health education programs especially focused on maternal and child healthcare. She likes to travel, swim, spend time with family and friends and stay on top of socio-economic and political issues locally and internationally.

Atish Kumar
Sound Recordist

Atish started working at DASCFT in November 2010. He enjoys working in the non-profit industry as he feels that his skill is being used towards serving the needy in the community. In his free time, Atish likes to play cricket, travel, watch television and practice spirituality.

Kiran Syal
Reader/Recordist

Kiran has been working in our visual impairment program since February 2010. She is pursuing a B.A. (correspondence) at Punjab University. She is highly committed to helping the students by providing audio materials for their higher education. Kiran says “ I feel very lucky to have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the visually impaired”. Other than reading to help people she also enjoys reading story books and is fond of music.

Jyoti Sharma
Administrative Assistant

Jyoti recently started her work as the at DASCFT. She is pursuing her Master’s degree (correspondence) from Punjab University. Jyoti likes her work as she believes in the DASCFT programs. She works hard as a team member to help achieve organizational goals. In her free time she enjoys reading, listening to music and likes to cook.
